The Manitoba Longitudinal Study of Young Adults (MLSYA) wants to learn about young Manitobans and their lifestyles and leisure activities. The Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, Manitoba Lotteries Corporation, and Manitoba Gaming Control Commission, who are jointly funding this study, recognize the need to learn more about how young Manitobans spend their leisure time, including their gambling behaviors. Previous research in this area has shown that young adults are most at risk of developing problems with their gambling. The goal of this study is to explore how young Manitobans’ gambling behaviors evolve, and the factors associated with gambling.

You do not have to have gambled in order to participate. This study is open to all young Manitobans between the ages of 18 and 20. Participation is voluntary, and all those who join our study will be compensated for their time. We welcome all young adults living in Manitoba to get involved in this groundbreaking research. Your participation in this study will help us develop ways of assisting other young adults in the future.
